Build-A-Bear originally managed orders through a homegrown solution. But as the brand explored new sales channels and customer expectations shifted, challenges arose.

Build-A-Bear wanted a more affordable, trusted option for same-day delivery that could boost their customer experience, especially for last-minute gifts and special occasions.

With Deck Commerce, Build-A-Bear was able to quickly roll out same-day delivery via Uber, offering guests a reliable, fast fulfillment option, especially for those special, last-minute moments.

Same-day delivery with Uber launched seamlessly, delivering bears (and smiles) faster and often at a lower cost than standard shipping. Adoption of same-day delivery continues to grow, signaling it's a shopper favorite. It’s estimated that Build-A-Bear experienced a 10% revenue lift from launching this offering, consistent with results typically seen by brands offering same-day delivery.

Use case: In-store fulfillment

When COVID temporarily shuttered brick-and-mortar locations, Build-A-Bear needed a way to keep ecommerce orders flowing and store associates working.

Working closely with Build-a-Bear’s store operations and ecommerce teams, Deck Commerce helped configure and deploy in-store fulfillment, ensuring continuity during an otherwise uncertain time.

Within just four weeks, the new fulfillment model was live, keeping associates working and ensuring every shopper still got their special moment (and bear) delivered to their door. This new capability helped support increased ecommerce demand, enabled greater order volume from stores, and contributed to sustained revenue during a challenging time.
